September is here, and fall is fast approaching while the end of the summer hangs heavy in the air. Early autumn in the South is almost like an extension of the balmy summers, but we can look forward to the promise of cooler evenings and crisp mornings ahead. We also begin to think about family gatherings, holidays and fall decorating.
I started our fall season with my Antiques in Style column ~ which appears in Grand Luxe Magazine ~ about Renaissance inspirations in fashion. The article is based on my blog about the Dolce & Gabbana fashion show in which we participated earlier this year. Countless artists and designers have embraced Renaissance inspirations over the centuries, and today we look to all antique styles as creative key elements in our fashions and interiors. My column will often reflect the theme of the magazine, such as this month’s issue, in which fashion was the focus. The exciting fall introductions from the always-incredible Dolce and Gabbana collection came to mind. I truly appreciate the photos that D&G provided to us to feature in this article.
The September issue of Grand Luxe Magazine also focuses on the annual Cattle Baron’s Ball, an amazing charity benefitting The American Cancer Society. In past years we have worked closely with this remarkable group of philanthropists that generously donate their time to this sublimely worthwhile cause. This year the Cattle Baron’s Ball is at the iconic South Fork Ranch which is the location of the newly reborn television series, Dallas. The event will no doubt be amazing and features recording artist Blake Shelton.
