Antique Copper Milk Can is a reminder of a bygone era, when fresh milk was delivered by horse cart then by delivery truck to the cities, where it was then dispensed in glass bottles for sale or delivery. Sturdy copper milk cans like this one were designed to be durable under rigorous daily handling conditions, and still last for years. Note the ingenious lid clamping mechanism that ensured a tight seal to keep the milk fresh. The maker of this can even reinforced the can where the handles join up to ensure decades of continuous use.
