19th Century Chinese Blue & White Lidded Urn was designed for shelf, sideboard or mantel display, with an elaborate flora and fauna scene hand-painted in rich cobalt blue on the facade, but with a blank opposite side. The teardrop shape of the design provides lots of storage, accessed with the original lid, also accented with painted designs and a seed-shaped knob integral to the casting. Earthenware pottery like this example were designed to be used and enjoyed on a daily basis, but were still painstakingly decorated and fired with ancient glazing techniques to produce durable, attractive vessels your family can enjoy for decades to come.
