Pair Antique Needlepoint Works in Original Bakelite Frames are delightful works in needlepoint as well as petite point, creating wonderful detail using the coloration of the threads to create images. In this case, two distinct floral bouquets of wildflowers together with roses are the subjects. The natural earth tones coupled with the subtle, toned down jewel tones create a visually pleasing effect, and one can only imagine how much time was required to painstakingly stitch the artworks into the creations you see herein. Each survives in its original bakelite frame, dating the pair to the early 20th century, with Bakelite patented in 1907 by Leo Baekeland in Yonkers, New York.
