Antique Framed Oil Painting on Canvas by Louis Loncin (1875-1946)
Take a close look at this grand, important oil painting on canvas in its original frame, painted by listed artist Louis Loncin from the waning years of the Impressionism period around 1910. The artist loved the natural surroundings of the Ardennes Forest, which he portrayed with such depth of movement and emotion. This particular work glorifies a beautiful Spring morning, with the fresh new growth of a variety of greenery setting the stage, and new blossoms on trees in the foreground for added zeal. The rustic structure in the background only adds to the charm. Survives in its original finely detailed giltwood frame that has darkened to a beautiful degree of patina over the past century. From 1930 on Loncin was a member of the art circle in Anderlecht, a renowned district in Brussels. His works are displayed in the museum of Arlon and in the Museum of Wallon Art in Liege, Belgium, as well as many important private collections around the world.
