Antique Framed Oil Painting on Canvas by L. VanMeerbeek is an intriguing work with a visual effect that is at once subtle yet defines the impact of the work.  The composition seems to be angular, with the right third of the canvas projecting towards the viewer, with a distinct boundary that represents a background with more relaxed perspective projecting out to the left of the work.  The artist has used a bright springtime palette with an impressionistic technique highlighting the lush foliage surrounding the cottage at the center of the composition, with the sky above and the water in the foreground creating a framework that focuses one's attention on the aforementioned springtime glory.  Survives in its original frame.
