Pair 19th Century French Wrought Iron Garden Lanterns are a testament to the extraordinary talents of a master blacksmith! Intended for either the grounds around a church or a garden belonging to a family of faith, each features a cross on top, with ventilation cut into the top of the structure also in the shape of the Maltese cross. The angled four-sided lantern was designed to hold candles, but each can be electrified in the same manner as other similar wrought iron chandeliers and fixtures we carry. Note the acanthus leaves around the perimeter, floral blossoms tipping the scrolls, judicious use of twisted strips and of course the main shaft, and elaborate scrolls with rosettes and tendrils below forming the base. Extra shaft extends below the scrolls for insertion into the pedestal or mounting block for final installation.
