Antique French 19th Century Louis XVI Black and Gold Oval Mirror

Created in an uncommon horizontally-oriented oval shape, this wonderful Antique French 19th Century Louis XVI Oval Mirror features spectacular detail from top to bottom!  The crown at center top features musical instruments including a lyre and lute, intermingled with a miter and torchere amongst fully laden olive branches, all held together with ribbon.  The ribbon motif combines with dashes and beads to completely surround the oval beveled mirror, with an unusual ring separated from and encircling the outermost embellishments.  Stylized shells, florals and foliates appear in abundance all around the framework which is highlighted in an ebony and gold finish.
