Grand Antique Italian Renaissance Walnut Banquet Table

Grand Antique Italian Renaissance Walnut Banquet Table is truly a study in master craftsmanship and artistic wood sculpture!  Designed to easily accommodate eight to ten and perhaps more under ideal conditions.  The spacious top showcases the richness of the solid walnut planks, and is lavished around the edge with demilune gadrooning under which appears an Italian interpretation of dentil molding around the entire apron.  The side supports and trestle, however, steal the show with a dramatic display of extraordinary beauty, rendered in solid sumptuous walnut.  Each support is carved with an heraldic crest at the center, surrounded by two layers of scrollwork, with the outermost edge of the support comprised of a massive, bold scrollwork adorned with Greek coin overlay appearing over a lower upturned acanthus leaf scroll.  Four massive lions' paws feet create a stylish and stable platform for the artistry above.  The trestle takes the same heraldic crest at the center and expands upon the lavishly carved scrollwork to create a stunning work of art stretching between the table's supports.  Even the back side of the trestle was carved intaglio style so it would not be unadorned.  Such a masterwork will make an impressive conference table or a banquet table for a splendid dining room celebrating the flair and dynamics of the Renaissance as only the skilled artisans of Italy can produce!
