Antique Liegoise Louis XIV Draw Leaf Dining Table is a superlative example of the high quality furnishings that have been produced in the region for centuries! The clever design has two leaves that tuck into slots underneath the main table top when not needed, then draw out easily and quickly when extra guests arrive. Leaves just as quickly tuck back in to reclaim floor space. This table, rendered from solid oak, features a finely contoured and beveled top frame surrounding diamond parquet for an intriguing visual effect. The apron is a woodcarver's masterpiece, with matching patterns on the long aprons, and different matching patterns on the short aprons. On the long sides, scallop shells are centered between each leg surrounded by floral and foliate sprays, with acanthus leaves creating a scroll effect along the bottom edge. Flanking the center piece carving appears cross hatching with floral rosettes. On the short aprons, the oval centerpiece features an intriguing double arched acanthus crown with just cross hatching on each side. All four legs are exquisite, blended beautifully into the attached aprons and carved with shell, acanthus leaf and bell flower on the shoulders, with cloven hoof feet. Ready to provide timeless style, flair, and wonderful dining memories for your family for decade after decade to come!
