Antique Dutch Rustic Neoclassical Trestle Table was sturdily crafted by hand using time-honored techniques to last for generations! Thick planks of solid old-growth sycamore were employed to create the top, which is so sturdy it does not require an apron for support, hence the above-average knee clearance of 29 inches, great for taller folk. Support is provided by two massive side panels, again crafted from extra-thick planks of solid sycamore, and cut in a neoclassical double scroll form that is very visually appealing. The scroll work appears on the inside and outside of the panels for attractiveness no matter the viewing angle. Each panel is mounted upon a double footed base with scrolled ends in a corbel fashion. Mortised at the center line is a full width trestle beam that is shimmed into place, a method of reinforcing table structures that dates back millennia. Although its style was inspired by the architects of ancient Greece and Rome, it still exudes a casual rusticity that will endear it to your entire family!
