Set of 6 Antique French Louis XV Fruitwood Dining Chairs includes 2 Armchairs exude all the elegance of the style, but in a subtle and sophisticated expression.  Hand-crafted and artfully carved from solid fruitwood, the set features a gentle arch to the seat back topped with carved floral and foliates that cascade outwards to the shoulders, with opposing scrolls and stylized shell at the bottom near the seat's top.  The caned backs are original, and create a light weight comfort that "breathes" making them perfect for warmer climates.  Padded armrests on the pair of armchairs and all seats were recently upholstered in faux leather for a long-wearing, good-looking result.  The elegant scrolled design of the armrest supports is enhanced with cared acanthus fronds, connecting to the seat which is supported by a subtly scrolled apron and graceful cabriole legs all carved with complementary floral and foliate embellishment.  All four legs on each chair are so treated making the set attractive from all angles, an important feature when one sees the entire room with the chairs in place around your dining table.
