19th Century Rustic Country French Writing Table represents the essence of the rural craftsman's trade!  Utilizing readily available old-growth oak, the artisan created a top with thick planks for long wear and daily use, supported with a generous overhang by solid planks for the aprons and squared posts that were cut with a bit of taper to add some visual appeal.  Centered on one side is a convenient drawer with keyhole guard in steel, joined with dovetails.  Look closely and you'll see the double-pegged mortise & tenon joints holding the framework together, a sure sign of traditional craftsmanship that has been handed down from generation to generation for centuries.
