18th Century Rustic Spanish Walnut Desk recalls the days when Spain was still considered one of the mightiest nations in the world with an extraordinary navy, although somewhat in decline by the 1700s.  This desk represents the vestiges of the colonial period, with solid plank top supported by turned legs dovetailed underneath, with a tier of three drawers, tailored in design, and fitted with steel pendant pulls.  The legs are joined with a classic "H" stretcher for strength and longevity.  Such a desk would have belonged only to the affluent, who could afford the education and status, especially with a desk almost 8' in width for a spacious workspace as well as to impress guests.
