Antique Italian Neoclassical Painted Demilune Display Console is a truly special find! Ideal for entryways, hallways, landings, niches or even behind a chair or sofa, it combines the architectural surface of a console with a curio display cabinet, all packaged in a celebration of the classical design form that originated in ancient Greece and Rome! Three elegant tapered legs provide support, so it does not have to be mounted to a wall like some consoles. Each leg is enhanced with carved bell flowers painted in a patinaed gold to contrast against the antique off-white primary color. The apron has been treated to the same color enhancement, but displays beautiful foliate scrollwork with an oval rosette at the center appearing over the front leg. The top is hinged and fitted with glass providing an excellent surface that is also transparent so a small collection or keepsakes can be displayed within atop the tufted liner which is removable. The distressed painted finish only adds to the classic allure!
