Sale19th Century Blue & White Vase features the vivid blues so desirable with the makers of such goods since the 15th century. The blues were derived from cobalt oxide, which interestingly was imported all the way from Persia (today's Iran) across the Asian continent on the Old Silk Road, or just as perilously, by sea around India and Southeast Asian peninsula. Cherished because of their proprietary pure white Kaolin clays and proprietary glazing technique that keeps the blue coloration lustrous for centuries, such vases have been prized by regular consumers to kings, queens, shahs and emperors for hundreds of years.
