Set of Four 19th Century French Louis XV Fruitwood Side Chairs feature the classic form definitive of the Rococo style, with violin-shaped seat backs, generous seats, and an undulating apron supported by four cabriole legs. The crest of the seat back has been carved with shell and foliates, with floral carvings on the shoulders. The front legs feature a Florentine flourish with scrolled feet and upturned acanthus leaf, with the center of the apron between the legs lavished with carvings complementary to the aforementioned seat back crest. A lovely patina has developed in the fruitwood over the past century lending a pleasing warm coloration. Upholstery is fairly recent and in good, serviceable condition.
