Pair 19th Century Flemish Renaissance Bookcases ~ Buffets with Stained Glass will make an unusual symmetrical statement for any room, perfect for flanking fireplaces, doorways, cased openings, etc., to create a truly one-of-a-kind look for your home! The bold crown molding above elongated egg is accented by lions' heads corbels with brass rings, under which a panel of fish scale appears. Under the lions the corbel transitions to elaborately carved pilasters on each corner which in turn provide a framework for the exquisite stained glass work fitted in a Greek coin frame, exuding luxurious jewel tones in the glass. The upper tier is held aloft by a carved backsplash panel and two turned and carved urn pediments, all resting atop the lower cabinet. There, the uppermost tier has been carved to match the crown above, but conceals a drawer fitted with a brass bale pull. Matching corner pilasters also frame the lower door, which is a study in carved embellishment as well as geometric forms, centered with yet another lion's head. A substantial, finely carved and boldly molded base with bun feet completes the look.
