Grand 19th Century Italian Renaissance Walnut Bookcase is a magnificent example of master Italian craftsmanship, crafted on a grand scale for a grand home!  Featuring a trapezoidal shape which allows light in from all sides to further allow appreciation for your display or collection, it does not require the addition of interior lighting, although that could be added if desired.  A multi-tiered crown presides over the work, with bold molding and intricately carved Greek wave motif an all three sides.  Four glazed panes with glass etched with artistic bordering and the monogram of the family who originally commissioned the piece, framed by barley twist columns, allow splendid display potential.  Note the hand-carved walnut key guards which is an amazing touch.  Inside one finds the original trapezoidal shelves that are adjustable to accommodate your requirements.  Below that, four individual and distinct works of the sculptor's art depict wildlife scenes carved from solid walnut for a spectacular effect, all rendered in bold full relief and framed by a forest canopy above for a delightful effect.  The scene on the left side is the classic hound chasing the hare.  The left door shows a hound facing off against a fierce boar.  The right door depicts two game birds in a courting ritual, and the right side depicts a deer and game bird enjoying tranquility.  A multi-tiered base molding with bun feet complete the look.
