Grand 19th Century French Louis Philippe Bookcase ~ Bibliotheque was a product of talented craftsmen using traditional time-honored methods and the result of a tailored style that has proven to remain popular for what will be two centuries in just another couple of decades. Using dense, old-growth indigenous oak, the artisans created a strong crown over the upper tier, which consists of four glazed doors providing access to and a view of the interior, augmented by four adjustable shelves for a total of five display surfaces. The base below projects out a bit providing a convenient temporary work surface at 42 inches high, underneath appears four drawers and as many cabinets, all rendered in the same tailored, timeless style. When open, the piece has a cavernous storage capability. Bold base molding and bun feet provide support, while brass key guards and pulls complete the look.
