19th Century Renaissance Revival Bookcase with Angels~ Putti

Exquisitely hand-carved with dancing Putti and a plethora of romantic relief motifs, this impressive 19th Century Renaissance Revival Bookcase with Angels, Putti was crafted from fine walnut, and features a stately neoclassical architecture that is accentuated by the hand-carved detail which includes a predominance of foliates with lions as accents.  Crafted at the end of the early Belle Epoch Period, such fantastic quality pieces were commissioned only for the most affluent who were able to not only afford the piece itself, but the education and the books that it was designed to hold.
