19th Century French Renaissance Hunt Bookcase in Stripped Oak is a magnificent testament to talented craftsmanship and artistic wood sculptors!  Crafted from dense, old-growth white oak,it features a bold crown lavished with two tiers of molding over elaborate foliates which flank a sublime heraldic crest incised with an anagram of the family that commissioned the piece, known to history now only as LH.  The crown overlooks a spacious open upper tier fitted with three adjustable shelves creating four surfaces total for your every display need.  Each corner post is a pilaster with corbel and rich relief carvings even down to the bottom of the pilaster with the naturalistic fleur de lys.  A convenient surface at 39" high juts out a bit, transitioning to the drawer tier with amazing intertwined grapevines forming the handles, with grape leaves and tendrils emanating outwards.  Below the drawers are the cabinets with spoils of the hunt and a fishing trip realistically sculpted in glorious full relief on circular insets with two layers of framework, plus pilasters on both corners emulating those above.  A bold base with bun feet complete the look.  Painstakingly stripped using our proprietary process that retains the patina and sheer natural beauty of the old wood, all performed by our expert in-house staff.
