19th Century French Renaissance Bookcase ~ Bibliotheque is a study in both classical architecture and artistic naturalistic embellishment, all rendered in dense, old-growth oak to last for generations. The bold crown presides over a bonnet lavished with a crest, foliates and rectangular rosettes. The display section is framed by subtle pilasters forming the corners, together with fine molded detail providing a framework for the 2/3 glass, 1/3 carved panel doors. The doors open to reveal four adjustable shelves plus a floor for five surfaces. The bottom portion is reserved for items that are concealed from view by the wonderfully carved panels, each depicting art, music and exploration. A full width drawer is positioned below the main cabinet, with carved detail that complements the bonnet above, also flanked by rectangular rosettes. A majestic piece that will enhance any decor!
