19th Century French Renaissance Bookcase ~ Bibliotheque is a stunning testament to the artistic talents of French sculptors combined with master craftsman cabinetmaking skills.  Utilizing hand-select old-growth oak, a two-tiered design was created making it versatile for storing and displaying much more than books ~ your imagination is the only limitation!  A fierce lion overlooks the entire work nestled amongst foliate sprays above, flanked by turned finials, all appearing over complex molded detail with full relief carvings on the front and intaglio carvings on the sides, even on the side panels for the main case above and below.  The upper tier is centered with a large single door fitted with beveled glass and framed by tapered, fluted and turned columns.  The casework below features a drawer and a single door that is the focal point for the entire work, displaying in bold full relief a woodland scene with a covey of quail.  Extra bold molding and architectural design provides the framework, and the door opens to reveal capacious storage.
