19th Century French Napoleon III Period Neoclassical Mahogany Bookcase ~ Bibliotheque is the perfect choice for adding timeless flair and style to any room! Crafted from exotic imported mahogany which is showcased in the intricately carved detail as well as the luxurious grain of the side panels, it was designed to last for generations. Topped with a sculpted crown depicting a stylized heraldic crest with flowers and acanthus foliates leading the eyes to the carved urn finials on each corner, the embellishment rests on a multi-tiered crown molding that presides over the upper tier. Two doors with original beveled glass are molded with fine detail and capstones, separated by a Greek coin motif on the astragal with finely cast brass key guards, and flanked by amazingly detailed turned and carved corner columns. Inside are two adjustable shelves for a total of three surfaces providing lots of display options. A boldly carved drawer tier separates the upper and lower sections, and is carved all around with elongated egg motif, encompassing the full width drawer. Below that is the lower cabinet designed for discreet storage, also flanked by matching columns like the top tier, but fitted with solid doors lavished with carved ribbon and foliate detailing, rosettes and matching brass key guards. A boldly molded base and bun feet complete the look.
