19th Century Country French Louis XVI Whitewashed Bookcase combines the casual look of the provinces with the classic embellishment of the ancient Greeks and Romans in an unusually shallow design that is perfect for high-traffic rooms!  Standing almost seven feet tall, it measures only a bit more than a foot deep including molding.  Three doors also reduce the temporary depth when the doors are open, being glazed for the top 2/3 and fitted with tailored panels for the bottom 1/3.  Tailored molding abounds on all three visible sides, with blocked feet to continue the stately look.  The bonnet sports carved ornamentation, featuring a pair of Romanesque urns filled with flowers and foliage flanking the centerpiece of a wreath with foliate sprays and ribbon, all rendered in subtle relief and framed by egg & dart molding all around.  Cast brass key guards add a nice touch, with adjustable shelves inside.  The back has been rebuilt by our expert in-house staff to provide decade after decade of loyal service for your family for generations to come!
