18th Century Rustic French Neoclassical Bookcase was meticulously hand-crafted from select, old growth French white oak to literally last for centuries!  The elegant arched crown extends almost the width of the casework, and is boldly molded to create a proper bonnet for the entire piece.  The upper doors are glazed with eight panes of hand-rolled glass set in a framework that follows the contours of the arched bonnet above, and are mounted on outboard steel barrel hinges to allow the doors to swing as wide open as possible to facilitate easy access.  The upper tier also sports three shelves for a total of four surfaces to give you lots of latitude for display.  Note the hand-forged latch and lock mechanisms on the doors!  The bottom tier encloses the lower space for discreet storage, and offers two surfaces.  The sides and base are very tailored, giving the overall impression of neoclassical architectural influence in the design.  Shallow at less than a foot and a half deep, it will make a minimal footprint on your room while providing abundant display and storage opportunity!
