Antique Bronze Mortar & Pestle is a particularly intriguing artifact inspired by a bygone era!  Although cast during the early half of the 20th century, it features a prominent commemorative date of 1607, undoubtedly significant to the person or group that had it produced.  The originals were cast in the same foundries that produced cannons and other heavy bronze implements but were used primarily for pharmaceutical production, when ingredients were hand-blended and prepared in small batches, completely unlike today's robotic manufacturing factories.
