SaleEarly 19th century Country French oak Bonnetiere ~ Armoire features tailored, neoclassical architecture rendered from heavy planks and timbers of old growth oak to ensure this keepsake will last for centuries! The boldly molded crown rests directly on the framework around the cabinet door, which is central to the design and opens wide thanks to externally mounted hinges. Subtly scrolled door frame members and panels chamfered to precisely follow the contours of the frame add visual appeal, accented by a carved wildflower at the center. A detailed brass keyguard protects the keyhole. Below appears a full width drawer with brass pulls and shield keyguard, with just a touch of carved embellishment to complete the look. Inside one finds three adjustable shelves and the lower floor for a total of four surfaces providing essential, adaptable storage. Pegged mortise & tenon joinery will ensure decade after decade of enjoyment!
