19th Century French Gothic Hall Bench celebrates the style that has remained popular since the middle of the 12th century! The rectilinear architecture creates a sturdy structure with beam and post joined by mortise & tenon. The solid plank seat hinges up to reveal a trunk-like storage underneath. Less than a foot and a half deep, it's ideal for hallways, entryways, landings or other passageways and high-traffic areas. Four unique designs are carved into the panels, illustrating the geometric forms intertwined with symbolic motifs. Half-columns and spires provide frameworks, and across the top is a pierce-carved gallery rail with subtle trefoils and fleurs de lys as a finishing touch. Crafted from solid old-growth oak and sycamore to literally last for centuries!
