Pair of Louis XVI French Aubusson Tapestry Fruitwood Armchairs was hand-crafted from solid apple wood in one of the more intriguing interpretations of the Louis XVI style.  Apple wood remains one of our favorites due to its exquisite coloration as it ages through the century mark.  This pair of armchairs retain the light, warm tones of the wood, hand-carved with egg & dart, laurels, and acanthus motifs.  The tapered and fluted legs contrast with the scrolled armrest supports.  Rosettes adorn the junctures of the legs at the frames, and create a raised panel at the center of the apron in front.  The piece de resistance?  The original hand-woven wool Aubusson upholstery is in superlative condition!
