Pair 19th Century French Louis XVI Walnut Bergeres ~ Armchairs envelope one in comfort, and do it in classic style!  Crafted from sumptuous French walnut, the design features an arched seat back crown accented with a small floral wreath with ribbon that converts to a spiral ribbon trim motif that continues down to the armrest cushions, and picks up again on the apron under the seat.  In between, the armrest supports are carved with wheat motif for an interesting transition.  Tapered and fluted legs provide support all around, with rosettes and a small center carving providing visual interest on the apron.  Lavishly upholstered even on the back side with sumptuous pastel-hued tapestry, the fabric takes advantage of the wraparound design to surround one in comfort.  The original concept behind such a design was to protect against drafts, and the inherent comfort in the design has endeared it to countless families for centuries.  Hundreds of brass head tacks provide the perfect finishing touch.
