Pair 19th Century French Louis XVI Mahogany Armchairs ~ Fauteuils display amazing craftsmanship combined with the finest mahogany to create a classical elegance beyond compare!  The curved, oval seatback is surprisingly comfortable, and is framed in mahogany with a brace of acanthus flourishes on the top.  Flourishes also appear where the uprights join to the seatback, and between them is a display of carved embellishment that includes a floral rosette, quatrefoil overlay, and buttresses set upon a multi-tiered base with demilune rosette carving.  The padded armrests emanate from the seatback and are supported by scrolled uprights which tie into the main seat frame where they are embellished with more rosettes.  Tapered and fluted legs provide support.  Upholstery is in serviceable condition thanks to its intrinsic high quality.
