Pair Antique French Louis XIV Armchairs ~ Fauteuils will bring a truly regal air to your room, along with some surprisingly comfortable seating!  Hand-crafted from thick planks and posts of solid old-growth oak, each features an arched seatback design with carved foliates over an urn-shaped backsplat also carved with foliates.  The seatback is connected to the frame in front with gracefully scrolled armrests leading the eye down to the luxurious damascene mohair upholstery of the seat.  A handsomely contoured apron carved with foliates spans the entire width, supported by four tapered and carved column style legs.  The legs are connected with a version of the classic "H" stretcher, centered with foliate motifs that match the apron.
